Accommodation Options
There are a lot of options for accommodations. The wedding will be held at The Mayan Palace Resort which is about 30 minutes south of Cancun and about 15 minutes north of Playa del Carmen. We recommend staying at the resort itself, or at a hotel in Playa del Carmen. There are buses, shuttles, and taxis that frequent the short drive between Playa del Carmen and The Mayan Palace Resort. A bus ride is about $1, and is comfortable and air conditioned. A taxi fare is about $18.

Reservation directly with the resort can be expensive. However, many rooms are available as a timeshare and can be rented from timeshare owners at a fraction of the price. We have seen hotel units with 2 double beds for about $500-600/week as rentals. Large two bedroom units are frequently for rent for about $900-1200/week for the two double beds + king bed + 2 sleeper sofas. The larger units include a living room, dining area, and small kitchen.

Small, popular US tourist destination on beach
Quaint with Mexican ambiance but complete with Walmart
Note: any listed as all-inclusive hotels charge a hefty fee for meals, drinks and some activities and limit your freedom to go elsewhere.
Avenida #5 is the main drag, too noisy for hotel but nice for sightseeing , shopping and restaurants.
